After three years service as the Editor-in-Chief of Sensors, Prof. Dr. Milan M.
Antonijevic resigned from this position at the end of 2003. Prof. Dr.
Michael J. Schoening will be soon appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief
of Sensors. As one of several
MDPI online journals, Sensors,
the first open access journal in this research field, already has
become a leading open forum for researchers from all over the world.
Professor Antonijevic’s great contribution and distinct engagement will
be appreciated by all of us on the editorial board, and the authors of
the first three volumes.
In addition to his editorial work, Prof. Dr. Milan M. Antonijevic also
joined the organizers of the First International Symposium on Sensor
Science (I3S2003) in Paris, France, which was held during 16-20 June
2003. Under the excellent chairmanship of Dr. Francis Muguet, Milan’s
main responsibility was to invite world-wide leading scientists in the
field of “sensorics” (physical sensors, chemical sensors, biosensors)
to give lectures and he fulfilled this work very fruitfully.
Forward-looking and following the great success of I3S2003, we have
decided to run I3S also in 2004. Thanks to Prof. Dr. Huangxian Ju, the
Second International Symposium on Sensor Science will be held in
Nanjing, China, during 29 May - 3 June 2004 with Huangxian as the
Executive Chairman. Therefore, we strongly recommend to visit our
website at http://www.mdpi.net/sensors/I3S2004/. Meet you in Nanjing!
